Succulent Packaging Project - 2017
For this project, the class was tasked with creating a product and then creating a package for the product. To begin my process, I searched Pinterest for interesting packaging styles. While researching, I came across a pedestal box and loved the complexity of the design. From here, I began to brainstorm what could be inside the box. I decided that a succulent grow kit would be a very relevant and fun product to design and assemble. I grabbed my products name from the song, "In Bloom" by Neck Deep.
When deciding on type, I wanted to keep the aesthetic very playful and reminiscent of high school with the personalized hand writing feel. For the physical box design, I added light line drawings of the specific succulent in the box to create a pattern and add texture. I added the instructions to the outside of the box to demonstrate how easy it is to assemble the product. I also added a brief origin story of the brand to solidify the concept into reality. In addition to the instructions and story, I added the scientific name for the succulent.
